On Leave in the Philippines - Corrigedor

I'm a Filipino in heart.  One of the things that got me so interested in the army were stories of the Filipino's and American's brave stand on Corrigedor against the invading Japanese in the Second World War.  Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to go there to the Island Fortress - which was known at one point as 'The Gibraltar of the East'.  It is said that there is so much metal in the ground from the massive amounts of bombardment that compasses fail to work properly there.  The whole Island is a 'shrine' to Filipino gallantry.  It was an awesome experience for me!  Here you see me coming out of a Japanese tunnel left behind from the war.
