We had a movie night tonight. Some Brit guy and his unit has as a morale thing - Chuck Norris as their mascot. Hence, this Brit who flew in, had ALL the Chuck Norris films on his computer! It was funny - we watched "Delta Force". The movie was based loosely (REALLY loosely) on a real event that did happen, except - watching it with real army guys from about 4 nations (all armed) was funny! We were all laughing! I especially felt embarrassed for the Americans - Haha! They had a laugh too (at Chuck's expense.) We figure - we just have to bring the guy here. As soon as he sets foot on the ground - the war is OVER! Hahaha!
I had my first experience driving here. You think that's not a big deal? Well - with a multinational place like this, there are lots of vehicles. Some have the driver seat on THE RIGHT SIDE. (Meaning - where we in Canada would have the passenger - you have the driver!) SO everything is backward - the gear shift is on the left, the sideview is on the right, and the wiper and signals are reversed. I don't know how many times I tried to signal just to have my windows aprayed and wipers going! Haha! Luckily, we're not allowed to drive very fast - probably because of the dust that would get kicked up.
Did I tell you that there is a Romanian Orthodox Church on camp? It's awesome! This guys have guts. They built a church... THAT LOOKS LIKE A CHURCH right here! I mean, one morning I was walking and saw the steeple with a huge cross on top of it! Wow - it felt like home. I'm surprised, given that we're in this country. Is the Blessed Sacrament validly there? Could somebody please check. I suppose He is, but if somebody could check, I'd really appreciate it. Anyhow - wow... the faith (and the guts)! I admire them.
We're beginning to collect more and more at Daily Mass. Please pray for something to come of it.
To my DLSCC-ers: There's an embroidery shop on camp. Please design a patch for the Raider equivalent, send it to me, and I will see if the local talent can make something. (ReconG - I know you had something on the go. Perhaps we can get something here for cheap?
To JAMM - Happy BDay and Grad! Sorry I can't be there.
I hear of some disturbing things going on there with the O of C and a nomination of one particular person. Are they so hard up to find Canadian heroes that they have to stir up controversy? We only have to look at the men and women here, and hear of our people in the field. If they want heroes, tell them to get on a plane and fly out here, get in a vehicle, and talk to our young men and women "out of the wire". Anyhow - it's obvious many people back home have no clue there's a war going on.

Hi Sir!
Looks like your holding your own with the driving. My dad drove a wrong sided car in Europe and ended up cleaning the windows every time he tried to turn onto Farnham when he was back.
All the best!!
Danielle
